4.2: Scenarios revisited
This activity aims to provide students with opportunities to explore the effects of unfair or prejudiced behaviour and to find approaches that encourage understanding and tolerance.
Tasks
- Ask student to think about the unfair scenarios discussed in
the previous activity or other unfair situations they may have
encountered. Explain to students that people’s behaviour typically
determines how fair or unfair a situation is.
- Ask students
to work in groups. Distribute a copy of Handouts 15, 16, 17 and 18 to
each group. Encourage students to fill in the empty speech bubble with
a response that shows tolerance, understanding and kindness. Handout
19: Scenarios revisited may be used for teacher reference.
- Ask
students to share their answers with the class. Conclude the lesson by
discussing the effects of fair and unfair behaviour in each scenario.
Draw out the differences.
- Display the completed scenarios in the classroom.
