Early Stage 1: Me: Activities for Kindergarten focus on students' self awareness and an understanding of their immediate environment. 

The selected activities are appropriate for the age and stage of kindergarten students and may be linked to a number of key learning areas, in particular to the NSW Board of Studies syllabuses in Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE). Related HSIE units include School Days and This is me. Related PDHPE units include I am special and Me and my friends.  

Developing positive self-identity
The activities in this strand emphasise the need for students to value their own personality, appearance, thoughts, feelings, abilities and cultural heritage and the need to value friends and classmates similarly. » more

The activities in this strand encourage students to recognise and value our many similarities and differences. » more
Recognising fair and unfair situations
The activities in this strand encourage students to think critically about fair and unfair situations and to understand that unfair situations need not be tolerated. » more
Dealing with fair and unfair situations
The activities in this strand introduce students to appropriate skills for dealing with fair and unfair situations and give opportunities to practice these skills in familiar situations. Students are encouraged to understand that they can make a difference. » more
